Sulzer Eldim (NL) specialises in the non-conventional machining and manufacture of gas turbine components - in particular blades, vanes, turbine seals, turbine compressor stator vanes & stator vane assemblies, inserts and fuel nozzle guides.

Founded in 1970, Sulzer Eldim (NL) was the first Dutch company, and one of the first in Europe, to apply advanced machining technologies in the gas turbine field.

One of the company's core activities is the machining of cooling holes in turbine components, by means of spark erosion (EDM), electro-chemical drilling (ECD) and laser drilling. These methods of machining allow Sulzer Eldim (NL) to meet the critical tolerances and the high standards required by the gas turbine industry.

In 1986, Sulzer Eldim (NL) became a partner in the Pratt & Whitney PW 4000 aero engine programme. This venture took Sulzer Eldim (NL) into the field of component manufacturing and made the company sole supplier of the LPT seals of all PW4000 engine versions.

To day, Sulzer Eldim (NL) manufactures aero engine seals for most of the aero engine OEM's and their seals can be found in Rolls Royce RTM322, BR710, BR715, Trent 890 and Trent 500 engine programmes. Sulzer Eldim (NL) also manufactures all LPT seals for GE's CF34-8C/D/E, whilst some LPT seals of the CFM56-5B/-7 engines are supplied to Snecma.

In 1994, Sulzer Eldim (NL) added compressor stator vanes and vane assemblies to its existing range of airfoil processing and seal manufacturing products. The vanes are produced by means of a patented rolling and pressing process, assuring high-quality precision 3D vanes at low cost.

New products which will be further developed in the future are sheetmetal inserts and fuel nozzle guides/swirlers.

The latest state-of-the-art equipment installed at Sulzer Eldim (NL)'s facility includes:

• Real Time X-ray.
• High Power Yag laser for deep hole drilling.
• CNC EDM machines for fan-shaped hole production.
• Creep feed grinding machines.
• Unigraphics Cad-Cam.

Over the years, Sulzer Eldim (NL) has developed from a job shop into a complete component manufacturer and is now also a co-producer of complete assemblies.

Sulzer Eldim (NL) has approvals from all major turbine manufacturers and has been ISO 9002 certified since 1993 and AS 9000 certified since 1997.

Sulzer Eldim (NL) works exclusively for the aero engine and industrial gas turbine OEMs.
