International Gas Turbine Conference

Brussels, Belgium

“The Future of Gas Turbine Technology”
17-18 October 2012

The International Gas Turbine Conference is organised by European Turbine Network (ETN) biennially and aims to raise the awareness of gas turbine (GT) technology development needs and to provide the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with policy makers and gas turbine specialists from the whole value chain attending from Europe, USA and Asia. The conference will stimulate enhanced international cooperation, promoting the demonstration and implementation of innovative technologies for more efficient and environmentally-friendly gas turbines.

The 6th International Gas Turbine Conference (IGTC-12) will take place on 17-18 October 2012 in Brussels. It will focus on the future of GT technology from a user’s, research, investment and political point of view, with special focus on:

- The role played by gas turbines in the future international energy policy mix, where intermittent sources of renewable energy may significantly increase, nuclear capacity may drastically decrease by 2050, while the emerging economies’ demand for cheap and secure energy will rapidly rise to assist their economic growth in coming decades;
- Current and future technology trends and the different stakeholders’ views on required technology developments to ensure efficient, flexible, reliable and environmentally sound gas turbine operation.
