POWER-GEN Middle East 2012 along with co-located WaterWorld Middle East, was officially opened by the Minister of Industry and Energy, H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada on Monday 6 February 2012 at the Qatar National Convention Centre, Doha, Qatar.

The opening address featured keynote speakers:

•H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, Qatar
•H.E. Eng. Essa Bin Hilal Al-Kuwari, President, KAHRAMAA, Qatar
•Mr. Fahad Hamad Al-Mohannadi, General Manager, Qatar Electricity & Water Company (QEWC), Qatar
•Mr. Timm Dower, Conference Director, WaterWorld Middle East, PennWell Corporation, UK
•Mr. Glenn.Ensor, Director of International Events, PennWell Corporation, UK

Following the Opening Keynote Speeches, His Excellency officiated the Ribbion Cutting Ceremony to formally open the conference and exhibition and embarked on an extensive tour of the exhibition floor.

The 10th annual POWER-GEN Middle East and inaugural WaterWorld Middle East conference and exhibition is supported by Parnter, KAHRAMAA and Co-Host & Platinum Sponsor, QEWC.
 

Members

DGTA's membership is open to gas turbine manufacturers; manufacturers of components and systems, maintenance, overhaul and repair companies, consultancies, users and research institutes. DGTA's members are active in nearly every possible application of gas turbine technology, including aviation, industrial, marine and cogeneration.

User Groups

DGTA hosts two user groups: the Working Group of Industrial Turbine Users in te Netherlands and Belgium (WIGG) and the European users of the GE Frame 6B gas turbine. The WIGG meets every 6 months to get informed on hot subjects, share knowledge and evaluate on performance. The GE Frame 6B users meet once every two years somewhere in Europe for a three-day conference.
